Both Kassidy and Thomas Effinger are multi-instrumentalists with advanced degrees in Piano Performance. They have worked extensively as professional collaborative pianists, and they have performed as cellists with local ensembles, including the Wenatchee Valley Symphony Orchestra and CWU Symphony Orchestra. In addition to awards and recognition as pianists, the Effingers have deep experience teaching music theory, coaching budding composers, and writing music. Your child will learn to read music fluently, play with excellent technique, and prepare exciting and fun pieces of music. They will also learn music theory, aural skills, and a strong sense of rhythm. Ultimately, we will equip your child to understand music, choose their own repertoire, and practice efficiently and effectively on their own. Adults often rediscover a love and excitement for music after time away from educational “bubbles” like college and grad school. When that happens, we want to be there to help you study the piano. We can help you learn to sight read the music of your favorite composers, play music by ear, and even write your own pieces. Our adult students very often bring a number of questions and specific goals to lessons, and we want to help you meet your goals. We will work to implement a comprehensive curriculum specific to your interests, and that will help you attain your goals in manageable steps, one step at a time.
We'll help you learn to interpret new pieces, break them down into approachable segments, and master them at home during focused practice sessions. Whether you want to learn Schumann or Billy Joel, we are happy to help!
